  1. The club shall be known as the Santa Clarita Valley Contemporary Car Club (SCVCCC), a non profit organization.

  2. The purpose of the club is to bring together persons interested in old cars, and to foster the restoration and preservation of same. To protect and promote the hobby as such in the Los Angeles County area.

  3. Ownership of an old car is not contingent for membership in the club, but a car must be 25 years or older to qualify for participation in the club activities, such as shows, parades, or displays depicting the Old Car Hobby. With the exception that members will be permitted to use newer vehicles on club tours.

  4. The club shall affiliate itself with the Contemporary Historical Vehicle Association (CHVA) and agrees to abide by their Bylaws, as set forth by them.

  5. Meetings will be held monthly, at a time and place mutually agreeable to the majority of the membership. Tours will be conducted every other month.

  6. Board Meetings will be held monthly, or as required, at a mutually agreed upon time and location.

  7. The club dues will be collected annually, and shall run from January to January. All persons who join the club in December of any year, shall be considered members in good standing for the following year.

  8. Dues shall be set by the members of the Board for the purposes of sustaining the club, its activities and the Newsletter. Affiliation CHVA club dues may be added, and a member will be required to pay the total amount as a membership contingency.

  9. Dues of the club will be kept as low as possible to preclude membership in the club being considered a hardship. No officer or member shall receive pay for any activity he or she may perform for the club.

  10. A club roster shall be kept, listing each member. It will list the member name, address, telephone, and type and ages of cars owned for each person.

  11. A monthly nesletter will be published and U. S. mailed or emailed to each member in good standing.

  12. At least once a year, the club will forward the following information to the CHVA. It is to be sent to the CHVA President and Regional Coordinator by a club officer.

  1. On a monthly basis, the CHVA will receive the following information from the club. It is to be sent to the CHVA President, Regional Coordinator, and Editor of the Action Era Vehicle Newsletter.

  1. The club officers shall be known by the following listed titles, and will be elected by the general membership by the first meeting of each year. Any member may run for an office, or may submit in nomination the name of any other member. Elected officers will also act as the Board of Directors (The Board). The Board may be changed at any time, as required, by a vote of the general membership.

  1. All club money will be deposited in a local bank. Any withdrawals will require the signature of the Treasurer or one assigned officer. A financial statement may be requested by the Board at any time, and will be presented at the last Board meeting of the club year in any event.

  2. Should a club officer resign, or ask for replacement, or fail to re-join the club, a special election will be held as soon as possible to fill the vacated office. A temporary officer will be appointed as acting by the Board until the election can be held.

  3. All members desiring to participate in any club activity involving an automobile will be required to show proof of having current Public Liability, and Property Damage insurance on the vehicle. This will be the responsibility of the Tour Chairman to determine.

  4. Any changes to the Bylaws must be submitted in writing to the President. He must in turn submit it to the Members of The Board. If two thirds of the Board indicate approval, the proposed change will be submitted to the club open membership. If the change receives a 60% approval, from the votes cast, it will be considered carried. "Housecleaning" amendments may be passed by a 3/4 majority of the Board, where the Board declares such amendments necessary four the orderly operation of the club.
